CABIN WILD leads you on a journey into the most remote corners of the European Alps, weaving together personal adventure, mountain history and the evolving story of high-altitude architecture.
For over a decade, Ben Tibbetts and Valentine Fabre have crossed the Alps on foot, skis and by bike, drawn by an enduring fascination with bivouac huts. From primitive stone shelters to bold sculptural forms, hundreds of these open-access cabins are scattered across the high alpine landscape.
In the first two volumes, they present 50 of the most distinctive cabins in the Alps. Alongside practical detail and cultural context, they reflect on the stories etched into each shelter: of shepherds, mountaineers, architects and the communities who shaped and maintain them.
